1. PRS (or property ombudsmen…both do the same thing)
2. ICO
3. Indemnity insurance
4. HMRC (anti money laundering)
Incredibly, there are so many sourcers out there (even prominent ones on social media) that are not qualified which leaves you at risk!!
Beyond being a legal requirement, these qualifications are needed for good reason to protect you – the investor!
These schemes ensure your data is protected and ensure your sourcer engages with you in a legal manner. It also provides the investor with a governing body that you can escalate to with any concerns. Breach of compliance (and lack of certification) can put the sourcer in real deep water. This is a great thing as it ensures investors can feel much more confident about who they are working with.
Ensure you check the credentials of your property sourcer!!
